Solution / Swallow Holes
Solution holes and swallow holes are subsurface voids formed by the dissolution of soluble rock such as chalk, limestone or gypsum, or by the collapse of underground cavities. Left untreated, they pose a serious risk of ground subsidence and structural damage.
Our specialist pressure grouting techniques are used to fill these voids, stabilise the surrounding ground and prevent further collapse. We assess each site individually to determine the most appropriate grout type and injection method, ensuring a durable and effective solution.
Uses include stabilisation beneath roads, structures, railways and other infrastructure where subsurface voids present an unacceptable risk.
